Regitze Overgaard

Regitze Overgaard worked as an apprentice at goldsmith Ib Antvorksov in Gentofte in 1970, she finished her education as a goldsmith at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts in 1973. In 1974 she established her own workshop in Copenhagen after having travelled to Russia, Italy, England and Yugoslavia. In 1974 she started designing for Andreas Mikkelsen. She collaborated with the jewellery company Buch + Deichmann from 1980-1986 and with Royal Copenhagen from 1976-1987. She started designing jewellery for Georg Jensen in 1987 and the collaboration is ongoing.

In 2000 she exhibited her jewellery at the Danish Architecture Center. From 2010-2014 she worked as head of designs at Georg Jensen.

Overgaard’s designs are characterized by being modern and classic at the same time. Her jewellery has an organic and smooth look; with a strong emphasis on the metal and the way it reflects the light when used. It is important to Overgaard that the jewellery is comfortable to wear and the quality must be high which is reflected on both the front and the back of the jewellery.

She has designed several collections for Georg Jensen: Magic Collection 2001, Infinity 2004, Carnival 2006, Zephyr 2006, Regitze silver 2009, Sphere 2010, Regitze gold 2011, Symbols 2012, Spirit 2013, Nocturne 2013, Magic line extension 2017 and she was responsible for reviving the jewellery lines Grape and Daisy in 2010.
