Hans Hansen
1884 - 1940
Hans Hansen was educated as a silversmith from Carl M. Cohrs Silverware Factory in 1903. Hansen worked for C. M. Cohr from 1903-1906. In 1906 Hansen opened his own workshop in Kolding. Hansen opened shops in Copenhagen in 1932 and in Odense in 1934. The shop in Copenhagen was managed by Hansen’s son Karl Gustav Hansen.
Hansen designed the flatware line Arvesolv in collaboration with H. F. Gross.
The design language of Hansen was very refined and elegant. Hansen was much inspired by the functionalist style and Art Deco of the late 1920s and 1930s. His silver works are represented in several museums.
