Born in Istanbul by Turkish parents. Siesbye trained from 1956-1958 as a sculptor at the Art Academy in Istanbul. From 1958-1960 she worked at a ceramics factory in Germany. She returned to Istanbul and worked as an artist at Eczacibasi ceramics factory from 1960-1962 where she also had her first exhibition.
After having heard about the concept Danish Design and being drawn to the pure Scandinavian style she moved to Copenhagen in 1963. The first months were spent working at Herman A. Kählers factory, however she soon got a job at den Kongelige Porcelænsfabrik where she worked for 5 years.
In 1969 she opened her own ceramics and designer workshop in Copenhagen. At the same time she was enrolled as a guest student at Kunsthåndværkerskolen in Copenhagen. She exhibited with the Danish artist group ”Koloristerne” in the 1970s and in the beginning of the 80s. During her time abroad she has kept a close relationship with both Turkey and Germany. Apart from creating silver designs for Georg Jensen she also works as a freelance designer for Rosenthal in Germany since 1975 and from the mid 1980s also for Royal Copenhagen in Denmark. She has worked and lived in Paris since 1988 where she has her own workshop.
Siesbye is represented in several museums both in Denmark and worldwide and has received numerous awards amongst these the honourable Order of Dannebrog.
